Season 4 November 26th!
By Chaos, 21. November, 2021
We are excited to announce the most massive update any PT server has ever seen, presenting players with a fully reworked world in terms of grinding, battle difficulty, and even a storyline.
S4 seeks to end most classic grinding problems that have frustrated players for the last twenty years, bringing the equivalent to the item rarity update in terms of everyday grinding.
Welcome to a new Priston Tale classic experience!

New EXP Rewards
You’ll never be forced to grind a map for 10 levels again.
Maps like the Railway of Chaos (Iron 1) and Gallubia Valley (Ice 1) are known for their regrettable EXP per hour, forcing players to repeatedly play a single map for weeks or even quit out of frustration. These days are over. Our team reworked every single map from Lv 40 (Ancient Prison 1) to Lv 105 (Ice Mine), ensuring that the highest map you can access will always be the best one you can grind. Combined with Babel’s recent item rarity update, your seasonal adventure is sure to reward you for every single day you grind, making EU the only server to tackle PT’s grinding frustrations without recurring to increased EXP rates.
Deep dive
We took the best high-level map (Secret Lab, Lv 108) and the best low-level one (Oasis, Lv 35), calculating the average EXP/H from both. With those numbers, we did the math to discover how EXP/H should increase map by map from Oasis all the way to SL, ensuring that each map along the way is always better than the previous one. Compared to Babel, you can expect some maps to become radically better (eg, Ice Mine) while some will get worse (eg, Dun 2); an inevitable byproduct of the math work. On a bigger scale, you can expect a reasonable EXP/H from map to map, without any drops (CT2 vs Iron 1) nor major increases (LoC vs LT).

Rebalanced Monsters and Quests

Now you can play anywhere you want — regardless of party size!
If you have played PT since its release, you may remember that maps like Dun, Iron, and the Ice lands were PT’s endgame for a while. This was inevitable since the original developers could never create content at the same pace we leveled up. This created a broken pattern of abnormally tough monsters with every new update, snowballing to the point a mob suddenly takes minutes to die even in a full party. That’s a huge problem when the server is not crowded, making grinding awful to solo/small parties.
Not only did we adjust the EXP rewards of every monster, but we also fixed each one of their stats so their endurance (HP) and power (damage) scale with that of your character — putting an end to quests that last forty minutes, for instance. Oh, The EXP work was completely separate from stats rebalancing, so don’t expect any map to yield more/less EXP just because mobs got weaker/stronger.
Deep dive
We realized that some maps get so hard that we have to recur to mining (ie, stacking characters on top of each other to prevent one-hit-k.o), forcing you to endlessly right-click like a bot. Those monsters also had so much HP that you’d need minutes to kill them, making such maps impossible to grind without elemental damage or a big party. The new stats ensure you will always face a fair battle, enabling you to grind even when there are no players around.

New Quest System

Isn’t it disappointing to unlock maps only to find out there are no quests there? What about taking 40 minutes per LoC quest?
Season Four brings at least nine quests (6 zones + solo + party + boss) to every grinding map, ensuring that your journey will have plenty of micro-rewards to keep you motivated throughout your journey. Another powerful change is that quest completion time was drastically reduced in all maps 8x+, ending that frustrating feeling we had at 9x, for instance, when we kept playing Iron 2 because Ice felt absolutely endless. In regards to early-game specifically, you are now able to play with friends of another realm: just ignore the starter NPC in your town and talk to that of your friends, no longer having to wait until Ruinen to party up.  (Be careful: once you finish a starter quest in a given town, there’s no way back.)
Last, we are also adding SoD quests so we breathe some life in this super classic arena, resulting in additional EXP and gold to your journey. Last, you now can do repeatable solo quests, as many times as you want, mitigating the effects of not having anyone of your level to play. Just met a Sopphetio Wolf in either town, as always.
(But do NOT expect solo to be better than partying. If we ever notice players are rejecting parties to do repeatable solos, the system will be nerfed until parties are preferred again.)
Deep dive
We noticed that most players like to finish all quests from the highest two maps they can access, for instance: level 75 players will always clean all the quests from Cursed Temple 1 and 2. But this gets impracticable at higher levels due to the insane mobs’ stats, so many players will limit themselves to a single map (10x playing Eternal Tower) or even play inferior ones (9x playing Iron 2). Our changes will reward you for cleaning all maps from at least two maps at an acceptable pace, preventing you from getting bored due to the endless quest completion time or feeling locked up at a specific region. New Maps and MonstersFixing all the problems above required replacing several monsters that wouldn’t pose a threat to players of their level — as well as adding bosses to maps that shared a single ruler. New beasts like the Bloody Buma will put an end to Dun 1’s sluggish grinding, while new Epic Bosses like the vicious Gorgoniac will bring new quests and drops to places like the Eternal Tower, delivering more excitement to your legendary journey.

We also replanned how you move from map to map in S4, bringing life to abandoned maps such as the Greedy Lake (now Lv 65) and the Frozen Sanctuary (now Lv 92). Other maps also had their levels changed to curb grinding boredom / also match our new progressions, those being the Darkness Sanctuary (Lv 60), Heart of Perum (Lv 84), and Gallubia Valley (Lv 88).
As we said, we hope to make your journey less repetitive and more rewarding, fixing bad grinding of all level ranges.
Bonus update
We are making boss battles fairer to the more fragile classes by lifting the pet restriction*, meaning you can now count on your companions to fight Priston’s most dangerous creatures.
* Does NOT apply to crystals.

Brand New Items
With new maps and progression comes the need for new/adjusted items so you always get some fresh new drops wherever you go.
Here are some examples:
- Our Knights are getting more 1H swords at levels 9x+.
- The ABC items are now 88, 92, and 95, respectively.
- All maps will drop a complete item set, meaning more armors, boots, etc. are coming to PT EU.
- Bracelets had their integrity doubled to match other equips, preventing its early break. All these changes are part of a groundbreaking update we are planning for the next months, promising you a whole new way to experience your existing equips in the Priston World.
We can’t wait to bring you this unique update!

Improved Drops & New Event
Is an Epic item what you’ve been looking for?
Not only have we just finished a major update that will allow bosses to drop rarer items, but we are also introducing the Bounty Chest: a vicious, flesh-eating monstrous chest that stores some of Priston’s rarest equips. The Bounty Chest will appear in all maps with a higher chance of dropping Rare, Epic, and Legendary items — having its stats and drops adjusted to every location it spawns.*
* Frequency and drop rates are still in the works and likely to be adjusted throughout the season.

Quest Book & Priston Lore
Did you know that the Iron Lands were the Tempskrons’ capital? Now you do, thanks to the quest book update that brings Priston’s stories to the many missions you take throughout your journey! We spent months studying and writing about the Priston world so you can experience it in a new, unique way that will grow your passion for our favorite game.
To make quest handling easier, we are also releasing a unique quest book that shows quest requirements; informs rewards; reminds you of missed quests; and also lets you know where to grind next. For S4’s release, you can expect a full storyline from your birth town all the way to Ruinen, as well as additional tales for every new boss quest in the game.
More stories will be released mid-season.
