Status update 2023!

Your support makes a difference! A new era has arrived for Pristontale EU, thanks to the continued financing by the community we've managed to expand our development team. We are going from a fully volunteered development team to hiring a full-time, experienced programmer: Rovug. While this might not sound like much it's already shown its impact on development throughout January 2023. Our newly hired developer works on preparing new features for Babel and Seasonal. However, not all his time is spent on the currently running services as we're spending resources on the complete engine rewrite that we've been mentioning for a long time. We hope to provide you with continuous improvements to the game we all love so much.

Volunteers - The power of Pristontale EU There are many more aspects of the game development process that we'd like to fund full-time employees for in the future. Currently, in our volunteering team, we're proud to have a 3d model designer Nasione handling the design of new maps/monsters. Verbran our UX designer and UI designer responsible for the new interfaces provided for the new game engine. And part of many of the updates on Babel/Seasonal. Ashe our data scientist and an allrounder, ensures our drop rates and new features make sense math-wise. M4ko our web developer responsible for our website's back end which provides us with things like the newly updated news page system. HaDDeR who's providing our social media with posts when events occur. Yuthis the new Head GM in charge of our new GMs cuX and Fluffy. They will be handling your tickets and in-game issues this year! And our on-the-fly team members, TommyDeal (Writer), Ventura (Web designer), Tomdrc1 (Programmer), and honorable mention Iron (Programmer).


Player versus Player (PvP)
In 2023 we've started with an in-depth rework of how PvP works. This has been clear from the get-go by our first patches resolving many long-time issues with PvP.

Control effects In PvP combat players can now apply all debuff and curse effects upon each other. This will shift the meta and definitely require players to re-think their builds. You can now stun, slow, distort, poison, burn, mark, life steal % of players, and more!

All PVP effects durations are set to be applied for 50% of the skills description. This means that if your skill description would state to apply a 10-second stun in a PvE scenario (Player versus Environment) you'll apply a 5-second stun duration in PvP (Player versus Player).

Resistances Not only are control effects now impacting the PvP scené, but you'll also be doing yourself a big favor to start working on your items' resistances. Mixing your items with resistances for PvP could provide you with a huge advantage. Fire resistance reduces burn damage, Poison resistance reduces poison damage, Ice reduces freezing chance, and Organic reduces stun chance.


Vaults of Ricarten
Not only have we been reworking the functionality and balance of PvP we've also been hard at work to prepare the new map Vaults of Ricarten for you! In the Vaults of Ricarten, you'll be challenged to fight other players to control the Mimics that roam these vaults. While this place will be accessible for all players level 20+, it's dangerous in there!
